Haven't been here forever!

Wow - where has time gone? The last time was May 30th? Hhhmmm - let's see. Well, there's been baseball, all-star baseball, football and cheerleading, let's not forget trying to improve my photography skills. Guess that sums it up.

Here's some updated pics of the kids.

MY NEW FAVORITE PHOTOS

Took these in New Hope, PA this past weekend. I think they are my new favorites. We had a really nice time walking around New Hope, took a little boat ride down the Delaware, went over to Peddler's Village in Lahaska and had a yummy dinner at Applebee's on the way home.

ANOTHER HOME RUN THIS WEEK

Tuesday night, first inning, full count, swings, hits, HOME RUN, over center field - WOOHOO! They lost that game. They lost the game last night, so now they are out. Hopefully Steven will make the 12 year old All-Star Williamsport team and we can play more baseball.

In the meantime - he's going to be sharpening his wrestling skills. He's not too happy, but OH WELL! - when you have the potential, you have to work to be the best you can be.

HAPPY MONDAY

Not! I could have used another weekend day!

Friday night Steven went to the St. Mary's 7th & 8th grade semi-formal. I made him take some pics, he didn't want to smile. Some of the girls looked like they were going to the high school prom. He was happy because he gets to do this again next year and also his school's 8th grade semi-formal.

Saturday he played a baseball game in the rain. They lost - his team is in last place. Last year they were champs.

Sunday he was a buddy for a Challenger League game. His charge kept running into the dugout and the outfield. All the kids were amazing!
Here's one of Katie from this weekend.

Let's not forget TJ.

HOMERUN!!!!

Last night was the night! Steven hit his first homerun!! Woohooo! He had an awesome game - a homerun (1 man on base), a triple with bases loaded (he stole home so he brought in 4 runs) and a double. He also pitched for 2 innings and made a great throw to home plate from center field. And we even won the game!
Didn't get a photo, wish I had, his smile was amazing! Took this one of the two of them today for a yin-yang photo assignment.

SPRING HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!

We had a beautiful weekend! Spring has finally arrived in NJ! We've been spending our time at Gardner Field - who wants to stay inside. The housework is suffering, but I try to straighten up at night when we get home.

Kaitlyn and I went for a walk last night from Gardner into town. She had to stop every time she saw a flower. They are learning about them in kindergarten science, so she was giving me a lesson along the way. Pretty interesting!

GOING'Z ON

Steven played his first game Friday night - they lost. Saturday was the baseball parade and opening day. Beautiful day but a little chilly. Sunday started a Nor'easter. Still raining with some snow mixed in as I type this.

School is closed today - working from home - catching up on stuff.

Made this little cute last night while watching Sopranos.

Gardner Field at 7:00 am.

BASEBALL PRACTICE

Steven's team had practice on Tuesday. It may look like it was a beautiful day, but we were sitting on the bleachers in coats and blankets.
Um - Hello! - it's supposed to be Spring.
Today we are getting rain and it's cold. Tomorrow is supposed to be around 54 and sunny, but windy, which will make it feel like the 40's. So tomorrow night by Steven's game time it should be in the 30's?! Note to self: Get there early to park where you can see the game from the car!
Game is Friday night - opening day parade is Saturday - go figure! Guess he's going to wear a dirty uniform.

HAPPY EASTER!

It's freezing here today in NJ - feels like Christmas instead of Easter. We even had snow flurries while doing the egg hunt outside.

This is my new favorite photo - too bad 1 kid was missing. He had to work.

SLACKING AGAIN!

I know - slacking again! This is harder than it looks!

TJ had his wrestling banquet last night - he is done. We get next year off of high school wrestling, then the other one is there.

We had a nice snowstorm last week, 2 days after having 70 degree weather.

Allie has two new outfits - the citrus sundress is my favorite. Have to get in gear to make Kaitlyn her matching one.

We are going to Florida July 2-9th for vacation to Venice. Can't wait!

If you could have one wish, what would it be? Kaitlyn would like to be a Princess. That's my girl!

ONE PROUD MAMA!!!!!

Well, Steven finally did it! After 6 hard years of wrestling, he FINALLY placed in the NJ Kids Wrestling State tournament. 7th Place - Junior 95 lbs! Only top 8 medal.

For the last 5 years he has qualified to wrestle at the kid's states - which is an awesome accomplishment in itself. There are 8 qualifiers and 24 bracket slots for each weight. Only the top 3 for each qualifier get to wrestle in the championship. So out of 192 wrestlers, 24 get to go to the states. Steven has always fallen into a weight class where he has a full bracket.

In past years at the States he's always lost his first two matches - we buy him the customary sweatshirt - and we get to go home early.

This year he really stepped up his wrestling. He started the season off great and then was side-tracked with a broken finger, that required surgery and pins and was out for 6 weeks. We didn't know what the end of the season would bring.

For the Renegades team, he took 1st Place at 90 lbs. in the end of the year tournament. Beating someone that has beat him in the past - wooohooo! For the Jr. Eagles team, Tri-County tournament he came in 3rd (could have been 2nd - but that's a whole other story). And took 1st in the qualifier.

The only expectation we had going into yesterday was to win at least one match. He was seeded 4th and had a first round bye. In his first match he pinned his opponent, but not before he had bloody nose. His second match went into overtime, he came around a little too late in the 3rd period and tied it 4-4 and lost 6-4 in OT (this wrestler took 2nd place - UGH!). He really got beat up in this match too. His third match he also lost 10-0, he was just so tired (I did forget to mention that he slept over someone's house the night before and this also included the "Spring Ahead"). And his fourth match was against someone he wrestles in the regular season and always wins against. He teched him in the second period (15-0). His fifth match was a piece of cake because the other wrestler left. That's okay - we'll take 7th! 8th would have been fine too!

Win or lose, place or not, I cannot tell you how proud of this young man his Dad and I are!

Congratulations Steve - you so deserve this!

Onto baseball!

See I told you

I wasn't good at this kind of thing! I started this in January and haven't been back since. Could be that I couldn't find where I had put it - LOL!

We are winding down with wrestling, our last big tournament is this weekend - and then baseball starts. But in order to keep his skills up, we will try to get to wrestling at least once a week.

In my spare time I have been making these cute little fabric flower brooches.

And another big ta-dah - I even managed to make dinner tonight being we didn't have to be anywhere.

My first blog

Well, I figured it was finally time to jump in. I was never much into keeping a journal, so we will see how this goes.
